It is easy in our current life time for art and images in specific to get lost in the overwhelming amount of media we are presented with daily. We are hoping that with COW we can create a platform where there is a space for physical affiliation with the work and a place where people can observe, discuss and be part of the arts. Every four months, the gallery presents a new exhibition featuring four photographers brought together by one overlapping theme, creating an international dialogue between artists while maintaining strong local roots in Amsterdam.
True to our name, we draw inspiration from the natural instinct of cows: deeply social creatures that thrive in a kudde (herd). They enter the open field together, finding safety and confidence in numbers. We apply that exact philosophy to our exhibitions. Launching emerging artists into the art world through collective strength and community, navigating this often challenging field together.

Loïs de Muijnck is a primarily self-taught photographer and curator.
Born and raised in the city of Amsterdam, the representation and embracing of cultural diversity has been, and will always be, of high importance in the creating and connotation of her work.
